A few weeks ago, Dan and I competed in our first food blog battle – against each other.  We picked ingredients, cooked up a storm, and both did our best to write awesome posts and take awesome photos.  We had so much fun doing the battle that we thought it would be fun to set up a new site that was dedicated just to these types of competitions.

What is a Foodie Fight? Dan and I learned a lot from our battle and we have structured the rules of these battles based on our experience.  First, a typical foodie fight on this site will involve six different blogs and last 2 weeks from sign up to results.  Each competitor will be able to submit an ingredient they think would be fun to battle with and that fight’s moderator (either myself or Dan) will pick two ingredients out of all the submissions to use in the battle.  The moderator won’t be able to actually participate in the fight for obvious reasons.

The ingredients will be announced and the fun can start!  After you whip up your creation, submit your post by the deadline and then get out the vote!  There will be a popular vote so anyone can vote for their favorites, but there will also be special guest judges for every competition.  Those judge votes will be weighted heavier than the popular vote.

What do you get out of it? Well, you will get introduced to some new blogs and new bloggers, get experience with ingredients that you may not normally use, and who knows… you might even win!

How do I sign up? Before you jump right in, you might want to check out the full rules.  They aren’t too intense or anything, but just so you have an idea of how the competitions will be ran.  Then it is as simple as filling out the signup form.  As long as you have a website and we don’t already have 6 competitors for that fight, then you should be all set!
